General information about Microsoft 365 plans

Licensing is user-oriented. This means that each user/employee needs a license. A user with a licence can install the Office 365 apps on up to 15 devices (5 desktops, 5 tablets and 5 smartphones).

Microsoft 365 tariffs are called plans. Office 365 Web apps are included in all Microsoft 365 plans. Web apps include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and OneDrive storage.

Desktop apps can be installed locally and includes Web apps plus Publisher and Access. Desktop apps are included in all plans, except Microsoft Teams Essentials, Microsoft 365 Business Basic and Office 365 E1.

The number of licenses can be increased at any time without changing the license period or the unit price. Billing takes place on a daily basis only for the remaining time. Cancellation or licence reduction is possible at the end of the licence period.

What is a Microsoft Tenant?

An organization account name to be decided at the time of tenant creation and cannot be renamed later. The tenant like company.onmicrosoft.com is used for Teams/SharePoint/OneDrive and remain forever part of your organization account, e.g. visible to your customers when you share documents.

M365 licenses delivery

Microsoft 365 licenses do not work worldwide. It depends on where your company is located, more precisely on the tenant's location. This applies to all CSP licences, regardless of the provider, see: CSP licences - regional markets.
